As announced on the website of IWPMB2010 (http://www.adelaide.edu.au/iwpmb2010/), the next International Workshop on Plant Membrane Biology (IWPMB2013) will be held in Japan as a result of your web vote. First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support!
After discussion with my Japanese colleagues and taking into account your preference for the timing, we have decided to organize the IWPMB2013 in Kurashiki city during 26-31 March, 2013. On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to warmly welcome all of all to attend this workshop.
IWPMB is the premier international conference for anybody interested in the science related to plant membranes. Over the last 15 meetings, IWPMB has provided an excellent forum for scientific discussion and exchange of ideas among researchers from leaders in the field to postgraduate students.
Kurashiki is a beautiful city enriched by its historical and cultural heritage. Kurashiki is located 20 km south of Okayama and is easily accessed by train and flight. March is also a pleasant season to visit the city and the surrounding area and there is a possibility to see the cherry blossom during the period of the workshop. For your information, this part of Japan is not at all affected by the recent disasters
We will do our best to make the workshop scientifically attractive and your stay comfortable. Look forward to having you here in 2013.
